Melissa Raine

Independent researcher; medieval literature, childhood, then and now

About Me

I am a Research Associate at the School of Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne, and an Honorary Associate Investigator with the Centre for the History of Emotions, Australia. I work on Middle English literature and medieval and modern childhood.

My areas of interest

My work brings together language, body, story and human connection, along with an abiding interest in how the past lingers in the present.
